Hanuun's Language Development (17 Mos)

This summary focuses on her language development as a  part of her milestones reported in the middle of her 17 month age. There was a simple review had ever been written on her 7 month age here, when she started to babble, as well as what had regularly been told on her milestone posts monthly. Though they were plainly sort of general overview. What I mean, the reviews are not scrutinizing the details.  This writing then attempts to look at more details of the language produced. It covers words, dialogues, and her sentences production.
Before looking at her languange development in detail, this general chart taken from Wikipedia might help to perceive how far the children develop their language . The stage in bold i.e. 18-24 months is the development my daughter in.

The words she produced are by days changed. As the mommy sees in the following vocabulary: In a month, she develops her word by processing s/y into l, examples:

Showing colors awareness.

Q                             : Bajunya warna apa, de?
H                             : Biu = Biru
Anytime people ask what color it is, she will directly answer Biu (blue), though the target color is not blue. However, it indicates that she has been aware of colors. Sometimes she also says Ning=kuning, Miyah=merah, Tih=putih and Item=hitam.

Stating numbers awareness.

She responds to this instruction by mentioning numbers randomly. This random mentioning tells us that she knows already that we need numbers to count.

Stating adjectives.

She uses those two words to tell people if foods are delicious.

Demonstrative pronouns understanding.

She said “ini” to point at the close objects.

C.      SENTENCES-PRODUCTION

The following pointers are some characteristics of Hanuun's sentences that she uttered in communicating to others.
  • She states the sentence twice and mention the person’s name to ask something.
e.g.          Ambiy, Ami. Ambiy, Ami.                                  = Ambil, Ami.
                Nta men, Qia. Nta men, Qia.                            = Minta permen, Qia.
                Ain ayon, Ami. Ain ayon, Ami.                         = Main balon, Ami.
                Jem dah, bang. Jem dah, bang.                        = Pinjem sepada, bang.
                Ton Oyo, Mi. Ton Oyo, Mi.                                = Nonton Pocoyo, Mi.
                Ja…lis, dindong.                                               = Manja Lis…gendong.
  •  She sometimes still put Verb and Object/Complement in wrong order.
e.g.          Cucu mau.                                                          = Mau susu.
                Iyoy mau.                                                           = Mau telur.
                Cak mah.                                                           = Rumah rusak.
                Atah ambuk.                                                      = Pohon rambutan patah.
                Pipis ngga.                                                         = Nggak pipis.
  •   She produces two or more words in sentence and gives space among words as well.
     e.g.             Psssttt….diem….ibuk.                                     = Psssttt….diam…jangan ribut.
                       Mi, Ati Jo…atut…ih.                                        = Ih takut sama Aki Jo. Mi.
                       Cicin…Mi…peyan-peyan.                                = Pelan-pelan, Mi…licin.
                       Cucu empah Mi, acah, eyap.                           = Susu tumpah Mi, basah, dilap.
  • When she’s playing something banned, she will be aware of it then say:
   e.g.                Alah Ma’ looo, alah Ma’ looo                         = Nanti dimarah Emak loh.
                        Alah Mamah looo, alah Mamah looo              = Nanti dimarah Mamah loh.

Note:
        Foto diatas adalah meja kerja Ummi di sekolah. Jadi catatan perkembangan kata-kata Hanuun sesekali Ummi tulis dibuku, eh, di kumpul-kumpul ternyata banyak juga. Nulisnya iseng pas lagi ga ngajar atau lagi ga ada kerjaan, sambil ngoreksi dan ngemil seperti difoto, hari itu ngemil duku;)
     Yaaa, alhamdulillah  Hanuun tumbuh dengan begitu baik, kemampuan motoriknya, intelejensinya, interaksi sosialnya  juga perkembangan bahasanya. Sejauh ini Hanuun memang dikenal sebagai anak yang bawel, suka ngobrol dan ikut-ikut kalau orang disekitarnya bicara. YUP, she imitates every single word she listens to....
      Hmm, then one of my friends said "Ih rajin banget siy, mo bikin penelitian ya teh?", hehehe...belum sejauh itu sih, but a little courage mah ada. Teringat salah satu dosenku yang pernah meneliti soal Language Acquisition i.e Mr. Patuan Raja, as you can read his research here.
